Dear Friends of Eastern Europe Renewal:

The Peace of the Lord be always with you.

This will be a short update before taking off for Korea tomorrow morning.

Thank you all who prayed for Mary’s surgery. The operation took 6 hours and was very well done. She came home a day early and is progressing well. We have organized her in the flat so she will be pretty self-sufficient while I am away for 10 days. She will not be able to go out for another few weeks, but manages everything inside quite well. We are very thankful.

This week I have been teaching in a Discipleship Training School of Youth With A Mission in Wiler, near Bern. The students were quiet but tuned in and we seemed to connect well. I’ll send a photo of them in a separate mail. They were from 8 different countries, five continents and different social and cultural backgrounds, so the discussions were interesting.

Please pray for the trip and time in Korea. I have a bad cold, which can make flying unpleasant. The people and situation in Korea are mostly unknown to me. Pray that God will give me grace and wisdom to discern who they are, what is needed, what they already know, how they learn, to adjust to the size and style of the group and to avoid being rude through ignorance. Pray also that God will keep my voice in good condition as there will be 9 lectures of 90 minutes in 3 days plus other conversations.

Last Sunday I preached on humility from Philippians in the Lausanne Church. Please pray that I will follow my own advice in Korea. Thanks.

God bless and keep you.

Yours in Christ,

Ellis
