June 2010

Dear Friends of Eastern Europe Renewal:

The Peace of the Lord be always with you.

It hasn’t been very long since the last letter but I wanted to keep you posted.

In late May during the Pentecost season the European Leadership Forum took place in Eger, Hungary. Over 500 leaders from all over Europe gathered for 5 days of teaching, worship and fellowship. I participated in two of the Tracts: Foundational Apologetics and Artists. Mostly I was working with friends and colleagues from L’Abri, which is always a joy. The day after the Forum I taught a 5 hour "Post Forum" (Post Mortem) seminar on Comparative Worldviews. Over 30 people came, which is a record crowd for me at one of these seminars. They were very engaged students and I loved being with them. Later that day I went with the 40 American Volunteers to Budapest and spent 2 night with them there. It was wonderful to speak American and not concentrate on speaking English for 2 days. I took some of them on a lecture tour of the Fine Arts Museum of Budapest and we had a great time.

In June I was for 5 days in my beloved Poland, teaching, preaching, counseling, consulting. It was wonderful to be there again and work with people I have worked with since the early ‘80s. We are all old now but still very active. Lord Willing, I will return to Wroclow next Spring as well as spending 10 days in Zakopane in August.

Someone challenged me to write a lecture about aging because they seemed to think I was doing it gracefully. Pray for that if you will. Thanks. Also pray for the preparation of a lecture on the centrality of relationships in the Biblical Worldview.

Some dear friends in Canada are trying to put together a book of my material. They are transcribing and editing recordings of my lectures and sermons and using some already printed material from magazine articles. Please pray for this whole process and for the practicalities of publishing. Thank you.

The Professor of Recorder at the Academy of Music in Basel has agreed to teach me privately starting in August. I’m very excited and nervous about this. Next Wednesday I will go to English L’Abri for 3 weeks and will participate in a couple of concerts there as well as lecturing, tutoring, cooking, preaching, etc.

Thank you all who pray and who support EER financially. May the Lord bless and keep you lift you up by His Healing Grace. Mary continues well and active and sends her greetings.

Much love in our Lord, Jesus Christ,

Ellis
