Basel

Dear Friends of Eastern Europe Renewal:

The Peace of the Lord be always with you.

It is time to tell you about the visit to England last month because tomorrow morning I will be going to Poland for 5 days of teaching/preaching, etc. See the poster below for one of the lectures there. I can't read it either. The lecture will be translated, of course.

England was great! I could be at L'Abri for 2 weeks+, preach in 3 Churches, lead 3 very different Youth Groups (average ages 12, 17 and 25), give some lectures, lead meal conversations, tutor students. At the end of the time, Jim Paul and I went up to Newcastle to lecture at a Christian Arts Conference, which was a first time effort that went really well and should happen again. Then I could visit some dear friends in London at whose wedding I preached last year, preach in their Church, lead an evening discussion, have lunch with his parents and brother.

Most of the time in England I was on antibiotics against the bacteria that came home with me from Canada. The bacteria went away but there remained viruses that are just now clearing up after 2 months. It is good to have some energy again. Lord Willing, I will go back to England in the second half of June.

Not having a car is already making our finances go a bit better. An accountant friend in the Church in Lausanne did my taxes with me, which saved a lot of money. The Lord is providing in various ways and we are still afloat. Thank you very much to those of you who participate.

The book is in progress. I'm feeding ideas to a friend in Canada and he is making them fit together in a readable way. There might be a small book in the autumn.

On Satuday last I did a new thing: an all morning lecture/demonstration/workshop on Ikebana for 40 ladies at a breakfast
meeting in a large Church in Biel. Some non-Christian were there. One of them was the owner of the most highly respected Karate Dojo in Switzerland. She loved it and kept working all through the clean up period at the end. I was a bit nervous but it went well. 3 hours was a bit too short. Some people were asking if I could do an all-day one in the summer. It continues to be amazing what God can use for the advance of His Kingdom.

Some weeks ago I went with my recorder professor to the maker in Germany to choose a Baroque pitch recorder. I'm still breaking it in gradually but the sound is already very beautiful (at least to me). There should be some performances coming up in May and June.

Mary is well and enjoying the warmer weather and increased light very much.

God bless and keep you all.

Yours in Christ,

Ellis
