June 2011

Dear Friends of Eastern Europe Renewal:

Here is just a short report and update.

The time in Hungary was excellent! The European Leadership Forum in Eger had 600 people, up from 500 last year. They let me give 5 lectures and 3 short recorder concerts at Culture Night. There was a new music group from England leading the singing. They were good and tasteful but initially I was sad not to be with the old gang playing the tambourine and help lead the singing. Then I discovered that when in the music group I had time to mentor 3 people this time I could mentor 9 people. 6 of these were crucial at crossroad situations in their lives. Then I could see how God was organizing the Forum for me. His ideas are always better than mine.

Then I came on the bus with the wonderful American volunteers of the Forum to Budapest and stayed 2 night with them in the hotel. We didn’t have so much time together this year because I was giving 9 hours of lecture Thursday evening, Friday evening and Saturday morning at the Calvary Chapel for about 300 people on Comparative Worldviews. This conference was well organized with excellent translators. People asked questions from the floor and lined up during tea breaks to ask. It was very worthwhile and I’ve had some emails from some of them after getting home. After the lecture Saturday morning my dear friend Adam Szabados drove me to Veszprem where he lives. I could stay with his family in their flat, preach Sunday morning, give a lecture Sunday afternoon and have a great walk and lunch with them in an historic village looking over Lake Balaton.

Thank you for praying. I came home in good condition.

Our doctor requested a very fine rehabilitation clinic to take Mary for some time and was a little surprised when they accepted her. We don’t know how long she will be there but the goal is to be able to use her walker again instead of the wheelchair. We are hopeful. Her address there is:

Frau Mary Potter - Rm. 1.01

She would love contact with you, especially as I can’t see her every day because of work and travel.

On Sunday several people were missing at Church in Lausanne but it was almost crowded. We’re still on the series on the Sermon on the Mount.

Tomorrow the man who is putting my lectures in book form is coming to work with me on the manuscript. He has done a really great job so far and we might wrap it up soon. Wed – Fri. I will go to Darmstadt and Giessen in Germany and give a lecture at the University of Giessen.

Thank you very much all of you who support our lives and work with prayers and finance and friendship.

God bless and keep you.

Yours in Christ,

Ellis
