Dear ALL:

The Professor was 99% certain Mary's tumor is malignant and was quite surprised when the biopsy showed it is benign.

Mary has moved to another hospital (less intense) and is waiting for a meeting with a surgeon on 8 Nov. to decide if surgery is the right treatment.  If it is not they will probably do some kind of chemo therapy.

Her address is:

Mary Potter
Adullam Center
Schutzengasse 37
Room 220
CH-4125 Riehen

Tel:

0041612669527 Bedside phone
0041616452525 Hospital reception
0041612669911 Downtown Adullam central.

There has been trouble connecting to the bedside phone but if enough of us call and ask for Mary they will fix it.  Thanks.

Mary's memory is very iffy.  She can remember cards better than phone calls but enjoys the calls very much when they come.

Mary would rather be at home but it is not possible for practical, safety and insurance reasons.

God bless and keep you all.

Love in Christ,

Ellis

Dear ALL:

Mary is in the:

St. Claraspital,
Kleinreihenstrasse 30,
4058 Basel
Room 420

Tel. 0041 61 685 3726

Mary had a puncture biopsy and CT scan yesterday.  Using this data they will plan a radiation treatment program for 10-12 times, Mon - Fri, weekends off.  She will be in the hospital about 3 weeks.  After that we don't know what will be best.

The Prof. is 99.9% sure the tumor on her 5th. lumbar vertebrae is malignant.  He is also 99.9% sure it is only local and that they can really kill it with radiation.  There are many surprises in life but everything is in God's Hands and Mary is at peace and even cheerful.  She would love a contact.

God bless you.

Yours in Christ,

Ellis

Dear Friends of Eastern Europe Renewal:

My wife, Mary, had an MRI this morning. They found a tumor growing on her spine, which had been causing her a lot of pain on her right side and down her leg. On Monday we will go to the hospital for a biopsy puncture. Then they will start a month of radiation therapy very soon. We don’t know yet whether the tumor is benign or malignant or whether it comes from the bone or not.

We are Christian and at peace that we are safe and secure in God through Christ in all cases. Mary has started on morphine this evening. I have several teaching trips scheduled for the next weeks and don’t know whether I will need to cancel any of them. I have to go to Lausanne over the weekend for the Church.

Please pray for continued peace and strength and courage and clear thinking for both of us. Pray for accurate testing and good decisions about treatment.

Thank you very much for standing with us at this time.

God bless and keep you.

Yours in Christ,

Ellis H. Potter
